Kathy Roden Floyd
Kathy Floyd
has had her life planned out . . .
several times!  But the Lord has
directed her steps
down other paths
than the ones she anticipated.  She
has walked through some of life's
most difficult situations . . . suicide,
serious illness, miscarriage and a
premature baby, to name a few . . .
only to come out on the other side
with
the blessed assurance that God
is sufficient
for the circumstances
we face.

Kathy's roles as a kid, wife, mom,
stepmom, funeral director, health
educator and counselor give her

many experiences from which to
share
.  Her career opportunities
have provided credentials that run all
the way from Certified Childbirth
Educator to Licensed Funeral
Director!  She was a fourth
generation funeral director in her
family's local firm.  The childbirth
educator part didn't happen until she
worked for a dozen years for Paris's
hospital system in the area of
women's health.  In the early years
of that position, she was blessed to
work with many hospice patients
and families.

She has spoken extensively on
subjects in women's health, grief,
stress management, teen topics,
parenting and humor. She is a
graduate of C.L.A.S.S. (Christian
Leaders, Authors and Speakers
Seminar) with Florence and Marita
Littauer.

Kathy wants people to know right
up front that
she does NOT have it
all together!
 If you can relate to
that, or if the life you had planned
has been redirected by death,
divorce, disease or other difficulties,
she can show you the faithfulness of
a God who refuses to let you make
your journey alone.

Kathy has been
in recovery from
Guillain-Barre' Syndrome
, a serious
and disabling neurological condition,
since 2004.  After a month in the
hospital and almost another full year
in physical rehab, she has
progressed quite far.  She still
wobbles like a Weeble, but she
doesn't fall down (most days!).
She holds a Master of Arts degree in
Counseling from Liberty University

and is
a therapist in private practice.
She is a member of the American
Association of Christian Counselors.
She is a graduate and former
program director and president of
Leadership Lamar County.

Kathy has been married to Randy
for over 1
4 years.  She is stepmom
to an adult son, Ross, and mom to
Kellen, age
7.  She now holds the
titles of soccer mom,
Upward
Basketball
fan and PTO secretary!
She is a member of East Paris
Baptist Church and its Women's
Ministry Leadership Team and has
served in the Choir, Praise Team,
AWANA Ministry and as a Sunday
School and VBS teacher.  She also
led a weekly early morning Bible
study and prayer group for a few
years.
